Picket DCA 12/20
  Announcements

Picket Report - 12/20/07
Steve Brashear, SPC IAD and George Gonzalez orchestrated a short notice informational picket at DCA on December 20. ALPA National SPSC Chairman Mike Donatelli and Donald Stanton (DAL) joined the five United pilots which also included Russ Lindsey, Andy Namlick and Jim White.

The picket lasted about 2 hours. Several hundred information leaflets were handed out to United customers including Congressman Phil Hare from IL. As is always the case on these pickets, the customers are very interested in why we are picketing and their comments reflect a positive support for those they look to for a safe and secure flight.

Despite Glenn Tilton’s lack of respect, United passengers don’t want their pilots underpaid, fatigued, or worrying about non-flight issues. “It is clear United Airlines has a priority problem, when it causes professional pilots to be out picketing across the nation. I have seen pilots picketing 3 of the last 4 times I have flown”, remarked one frequent flyer.

Picket Report - 11/15/07
On Thursday, more than 30 United pilots and flight attendants from the Washington D.C. area held an informational picket at IAD. Picket coordinator Marco Salazar organized the event with the help of Steve Brashear. The group braved the elements to get the word out to passengers that the employees at United Airlines are not being treated fairly by the senior executives of the corporation. After engaging our customers and distributing leaflets, the pilots headed to ALPA Headquarters in Herndon for the MEC Officers-Elect's Listening tour.
